Edgar's Mission is set on 60 peaceable acres in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range at Willowmavin, Kilmore, in the State of Victoria. It is a not for profit sanctuary and home to rescued pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkey, goats, calves, ducks, horses and an assortment of cats and dogs

A visit to the Mission is very special.

You can tour the farm meeting the resident animals and read their stories.

Walk the unique "Kindness Trail" along which you will find quotes to challenge you and inspire you.

Have a relaxing time at the "peace abbey" and enjoy a picnic lunch whilst watching the waterbird habitat from the gazebo.    (Please note that at this stage the Mission does not provide catering for human visitors so please pack something to eat but out of respect for the animal residents we request that you do not bring meat products. )

Want to come out for a visit?

Edgar's Mission is run by Pam Ahern.

There are no paid staff and there are no volunteers who live at the mission. Pam welcomes and encourages visits but because she is very busy (caring for 200 animal residents is a BIG job) visitors are asked to call a week or more in advance and to select a 11:00am or 2:00pm tour time. This allows Pam to plan her day accordingly and run her million errands! To arrange a visit please call Pam

If you need to cancel a visit please call because Pam will be waiting for you!

Entry to Edgar's Mission is free.

Please no dogsCan I bring my dog when I come to visit?

This is probably one of the most daunting questions we are asked.   While we here at Edgar's Mission love ALL animals... including dogs (several rescued dogs live here) and we are sure we would love yours, but as you would imagine, our first priority is to the rescued animals in our care.  Some of our farm animal residents are very frightened of dogs they don't know. They have had traumatic experiences in the past and will not understand that your dear pup means them no harm.  It is very important to the rehabilitation of our rescued animals that they feel safe. Dogs, like us humans are naturally very excited when they come to visit but unlike us humans many are not able to contain their excitement.  This can lead to a distracted human trying to calm their dog and in doing so they may not experience all that Edgar’s Mission has to offer.

So we ask that in the best interests of all that you please leave your K9 family at home.

We thank you for your understanding.
