What’s the Kindest Thing You Did Today?

Well, if you are part of our #FiveDollarFriday community you made the morning routine of our Special Needs Flock possible, not just today but every day!

It is well and truly part of our daily work here at the sanctuary to fit Charity, Lemonade, Jewell, Shy and Cuddle Pie sheep with their prosthetics before they head out from their safe and secure night quarters to explore the big wide world. But just because this process is routine, it truly is not lost on us just how special it is.

Take Shy for example, an adult sheep who came into our care after losing a hoof and part of her hind leg to an illegal steel jaw trap. Or Charity, the cheeky dorper ewe who was born without hooves on two of her legs. Each and every morning they patiently stand whilst our animal care team members sort out socks and then strap, clip and slide specially made prosthetics into place. And of course, every day it never fails to make us smile watching our beloved residents march on out to their paddock, each requesting a wheet bix for their efforts at the end of the journey.

It is also not lost on us just how special our Five Dollar Friday community is for making this arm of our work possible. If you too want to be part of the team putting a spring in the step of our Special Needs Sheep flock, please head to fivedollarfriday.com.au
