2012 Calendar

big calendar mistakeOoops!
I am the volunteer designer for Edgar's Mission and I am horrified to tell you that I made a big mistake. It has just been discovered that July is a day off!
Small stickers that correct my blunder will be put into the unsold calendars. Stickers will also be sent to those of you who bought calendars online.
For those of you who bought a calendar in such a way that we don't have your address please download and print this July replacement page or send back your calendar for a full refund. Please accept my sincere appologies on behalf of Pam and all of Edgar's Mission.

The Pig Who Sang to the Moon
The Emotional World of Farm Animals

"Quite different from the largely anecdotal bestsellers Masson
has done in the past, such as DOGS NEVER LIE ABOUT LOVE
and WHEN ELEPHANTS WEEP, this is an emotional plea to look
at the horror and inhumanity forced on domesticlivestock
around the world."

Striking at the Roots bookGreat book that features Edgar's Mission!

Striking at the Roots

"A must-read for both the veteran activist and the person who wants to get

involved but isn’t quite sure how to get started. It ranks with the best guides to animal advocacy that have ever been written"

Norm Phelps, author of The Longest Struggle: Animal Advocacy from Pythagoras to PETA

Striking at the Roots: A Practical Guide to Animal Activism brings together the most effective tacticsfor speaking out for animals and gives voice to activists from around, the globe, who explain why their models of activism have been successful – and how you can get involved. Concise and full of practical examples and resources, this guide dispels the myths surronding animal activism and will empower you to make the most of your skills. From simple leafleting to taking direct action, each chapter clearly explains where to begin, what to expect and how to ensure your message is heard.

The Ethics of What We Eat
Why Our Food Choices Matter

"If Rick Adamson had ranted and raved his way through this treatise
on the ethical and economic repercussions of eating animals, it
would be easy to ignore. But he delivers it so objectively that he
gives the issue even more gravitas. This work, by a Princeton ethicist
and an animal rights activist and writer, demonstrates why Americans
should take a hard look at the food they eat. Even if it were possible to
ignore the facts of factory farming's cruelty to animals, the listener can't
ignore the environmental and economic impact of food production. It's
also a good handbook for conscientious shoppers trying to figure out
labels like "certified humane," "fair trade," and others.

This book could change your life."
